Description
The Coney Island Parachute Jump was an amusement park ride originally built for the 1939 World's Fair in Flushing Meadows, Queens. The structure was moved to Coney Island in 1941 and was officially shut down in 1968. The 2006 revisualization of the landmark 277-foot structure was developed with a consortium of owner/stakeholders including the Borough President and Parks Commissioner.
