Description
Located at the front of the Dallas Convention Center, Pioneer Plaza was conceived of by local real estate developer, Trammell Crow. The combination of landscaping and sculpture offers a glimpse into a cattle drive along the Shawnee Trail, which was a conduit for cattle on their way to market in Missouri, passing through Dallas near the current site of Pioneer Plaza and heading up what is now Preston Road as early as the 1840s until just after the Civil War.
