Description
This Solar Tree, like trees in many communities around the world, serves as a landmark where people can gather together. By design, each year on the winter solstice the shadow of the canopy lines up with the shape of the plaza, and at night LED lights embedded in the plaza mimic the pattern of the canopy’s solar panels. The canopy supplies electricity to Austin’s energy grid, which can be monitored at https://enlighten.enphaseenergy.com/public/systems/ABPW16503.
