“I always say, “Architects are my best friends,” which is true. I am kind of an architect myself. As one gets a little older, it’s a little easier to put the egos in check and work with people when you’ve become a little more comfortable in your own skin, your own talents. I think that we can collaborate. We don’t always agree on everything, but it works both ways. I’ve seen in my career a kind of breaking down of professional boundaries. It’s happened between the art world and the design world. All the boundaries are much more fluid than they used to be. It produces hybrid circumstances that are actually kind of interesting. I think that is a very contemporary notion.” - Ken Smith
