“We’re colleagues at Columbia and we actually spend a lot of time together. What I am interested in is that we present three generations of thinking about technology. I look at Ken’s work as a historian and the influence it has had on me—understanding the history of architecture not only through technology and its role in production, but also in the kinds of social structure of practice and the social structure of society. Technology plays a critical role. For me, David’s work is probably some of the most advanced work by taking technology to another level. He almost transcends technology in some way to get to the biological. This is what I think ties the three of us together. What we’re trying to do is explore ways of bringing other information into the process of building, into the process of design.” - Scott Marble
