Nima Javidi is a registered architect based in Toronto and an academic. He is recognized as the 2021 Gwathmey Professor in Architecture at The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture of The Cooper Union. Javidi is also a founding principal at JA Architecture Studio, a practice that operates both as a local architecture firm and an international design studio. The firm’s work has been acknowledged through various international competitions, including the Guggenheim Helsinki Museum, Bauhaus Museum in Dessau, and a Progressive Architecture Award, among others. His academic career includes teaching positions at the University of Toronto’s John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design, and The Cooper Union. Javidi’s educational background includes a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Tehran and a Master of Urban Design from the University of Toronto.
