Mark Lee is an architect and educator. He is a founding partner of the architecture firm Johnston Marklee & Associates, which he established with his wife, Sharon Johnston, in 1999. Lee holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California and a Master of Architecture from Harvard University. He has taught at several prestigious institutions, including ETH Zurich, the University of Southern California, and Harvard University, where he currently serves as Professor in the Practice of Architecture and Chair of the Department of Architecture at the Graduate School of Design. Some notable projects by Johnston Marklee include the Menil Drawing Institute in Houston, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago renovation, and the Alex Israel Studio in Los Angeles. The firm has also designed various private art galleries and studio spaces.Lee has received several awards for his contributions to architecture, including the Rome Prize in Architecture from the American Academy in Rome and the Emerging Voices award from the Architectural League of New York.
