Christopher Janney is an accomplished composer and architect (B.A. from Princeton,1973, magna cum laude), where he studied with Michael Graves and Rosalind Krauss, and an M.S. from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1978). Janney has also been a Research Fellow at MIT’s Center for Advanced Visual Studies (1980-1990) and a Visiting Professor at Cooper Union’s School of Architecture (1991-2004) under Dean John Hejduk. As a creator of experimental performance environments, Janney has also collaborated with numerous artists and performers including Mikhail Baryshnikov, Sara Rudner – former principal dancer with Twyla Tharp – and The Persuasions. Additionally, Janney has toured the world with his “Sonic Forest” and other installations at major music festivals including Glastonbury, Download and Hyde Park Calling in the U.K. and Bonnaroo and Coachella in the U.S.
