 The Rockefeller University is a private university focusing primarily on research in the biomedical fields and offers postgraduate and postdoctoral education. Located between E. 64th and E. 68th Sts. along York Ave, the university originated, in part, in personal tragedy. After John D. Rockefeller Sr.'s grandson died from scarlet fever in 1901, the capitalist &amp; philanthropist formalized plans to establish the research center. At the time of the institute's founding, infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, diphtheria and typhoid fever were considered the greatest known threats to human health. New research centers in Europe were successfully applying laboratory science to increase our understanding of those and other diseases. Following their lead, the Rockefeller Institute became the first biomedical research center in the US. The Institute changed its name to Rockefeller University in 1965, after expanding its mission to include education. In the early 1960s, new faculty with expertise in physics &amp; math joined the Institute, and in 1972, the university began its collaboration with Cornell University to offer grad students an M.D.-Ph.D. program.

Presented outside Federal Hall Manhattan, an interweaving of history, economics, and musical theatre, based on the events surrounding JP Morgan&rsquo;s attempt to save the nation from financial collapse during the panic of 1907.The troupe couldn't have found a more pointedly appropriate setting. Federal Hall is not only in full view of the Exchange, but is also directly across the street from the headquarters of Morgan Guaranty Trust Company, which was founded by the work's title character.The book is launched later that year.

The Panic of 1907 was a financial crisis set off by a series of bad banking decisions and a frenzy of withdrawals caused by public distrust of the banking system. By mid-October, Wall Street was paralyzed; for days, there were runs on several large banks. Millions of dollars were withdrawn, and banks closed their doors. J.P. Morgan and other wealthy Wall Street bankers lent their own funds to rescue banks, the stock market, and the country from a severe financial crisis.In 1913, Congress passed the federal reserve act, which put the government in charge of managing future financial crises.

JP Morgan Saves the Nation debut

 The wealthiest man in the United States, deposited a further $10 million in Stillman's National City Bank. Rockefeller's massive deposit left the National City Bank with the deepest reserves of any bank in the city. To instill public confidence, Rockefeller phoned Melville Stone, the manager of the Associated Press, and told him that he would pledge half of his wealth to maintain U.S. credit. 

Hired as an assistant bookkeeper with Hewitt and Tuttle, he said “All my future seemed to hinge on that day. &nbsp;What if I had not gotten the job?”. &nbsp;He celebrated Job Day every year considering the date more important than his birthday.

Hailing from relatively modest beginnings, John D. Rockefeller managed to become one of the wealthiest Americans, if not the wealthiest of all times. &nbsp;His rise started with his first partnership which began supplying food to the Union Army. &nbsp;He next got into oil which was starting to be refined into kerosene which was mainly used as a replacement for whale oil which was becoming too expensive for lighting. &nbsp;While there were multiple innovations such as selling all the oil byproducts, Rockefeller became extremely successful because of his ruthless business practices which included buying up unsuccessful refiners, &nbsp;and negotiating discounts and rebates on freight with the railroads. &nbsp;While it did bring the price of kerosene down,&nbsp;
