The Map of City of Brooklyn, a detailed map of Brooklyn and the village of Williamsburg, created by Matthew Dripps in 1850, provides valuable historical information about the development of Brooklyn in the mid-19th century. It illustrates the streets, coverage of buildings, displays numbered wards, and lot lines. The map also includes illustrations showing major public buildings of the city at the time such as Kings County Prison, Naval Asylum and the City Hall.
