Chanting “I can’t breathe” and “hands up, don’t shoot,” demonstrators protested police brutality and racial injustice. The march, led by families of victims like Ramarley Graham and Sean Bell, stretched more than a mile and ended near Police Headquarters. While most of the protest was peaceful, isolated clashes occurred on the Brooklyn Bridge, where two officers were assaulted.
