Boston Children's Museum

Description

Boston Children's Museum was the second children's museum in the United States. The museum was originally founded in Jamaica Plain and was moved to its current location in 1979. The Smith Family Waterfront Park at the Boston Children's Museum is designed to engage children in the programming of the museum and in the life of the city. Linking the museum's new front façade and the boardwalk and benches of the public harbor-front walkway that passes in front of the museum, the children's plaza creates a space of variety and texture meant to engage the mind and the senses.
