St. Augustine's Church was built with a 2 room Slave Gallery segregated from the main hall a year after the abolition of slavery in NY.
All Saints' Free Church began as a mission in 1819 and became a parish in 1824. Constructed from Manhattan schist, it was consecrated in 1828 and featured a Georgian design with Gothic windows. The church was expanded in 1848 and later merged with St. Augustine's Chapel in 1949. It became independent from Trinity Church in 1976. Over time, structural changes led to the loss of its tower, but the historic building remains a significant part of New York's religious history.
