Description

The Legacy of Cornelius Dirkson is a public art installation created by Duke Riley in 2015. The artwork is made of laser-cut stainless steel and is located at The Peck Slip School in Manhattan. Cornelius Dirkson was a Dutch landowner and innkeeper who operated the first ferry service between Manhattan (then New Amsterdam) and Brooklyn in the 1630s.
