An unfinished 670-foot residential skyscraper in Manhattan’s Financial District. Construction began in 2015, but the building developed a noticeable northward lean due to the use of soil-improvement methods instead of deep pilings for its foundation. The project has been plagued by construction defects, safety violations, worker protests, a fatal accident, financing disputes, and extensive lawsuits. Although it topped out in 2018, work stalled multiple times, most condo buyers withdrew, and by the mid-2020s the tower remained incomplete, partially clad, and tied up in ongoing litigation.
