The UCLA La Kretz Garden Pavilion, designed by Lehrer Architects, serves as the main entrance to the Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden. The pavilion features a dynamic guardrail system with perforated bent aluminum planes, reflecting light and shadows while providing views in and out of the garden. The design includes accessible pathways, stepped gardens, and contemplative balconies, seamlessly blending nature and architecture. The pavilion enhances the garden's visibility, infrastructure, and accessibility, making it a focal point for visitors.
