Designed by Indian architectural luminary Charles Correa, this multi-arts center first opened its doors in 1982. More than thirty years later, it continues to house a variety of cultural facilities and play host to a multitude of arts events.

1972- In 1972, the Government of India proposed constructing Bharat Bhavan in every state of the union to mark the Silver Jubilee of India’s Independence. Only the Madhya Pradesh government at the behest of Poet and administrator Ashok Vajpeyi executed the idea with the construction of this cultural centre along the upper lake of Bhopal.
