Marvel's transformative design for the Studio Museum in Harlem developed a new street identity for this local institution and broadened their audience. The museum’s facilities were enhanced with new permanent-collection galleries, an auditorium, cafe, museum shop and support spaces. The once-empty lot adjoining the museum was turned into a popular multi-use space where museum supporters and the neighborhood residents gather for events.
