New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Building
This 21 storey concrete structure at the Sansad Marg, is among the few brutalist architecture buildings in New Delhi and houses the New Delhi Municipal Council's headquarters . The civic body's main server and command and control centre are also housed in the structure. Computer professionals and Delhi Police personnel monitor public sites under the NDMC's authority when video surveillance cameras are mounted from the command and control centre. The Palika Kendra is one of 62 sites that the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage is working to have declared as post-independence India's contemporary heritage.
Jan 31, 2019- A 150-square-metre mural depicting Mahatma Gandhi made up of a total 3,870 terracotta kulhars on a wall of the building was unveiled by the Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu, in the presence of Union Minister Giriraj Singh and the Member of Parliament from New Delhi, Meenakshi Lekhi, on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
