Material: Faceted glass in platform windscreen
"Tranquility" features 12 faceted glass windscreen panels that depict the shimmering quality of Impressionism through the use of stained glass. The artwork is intended to brighten the traveler's commute by livening the station's overall atmosphere. "Tranquility" also uses scenes of the natural environment, such as groves of trees, a lake, and sky, all in shades of green, blue, and yellow, to convey feelings of serenity and peace. Artist Marjorie Blackwell says she wanted "the colors and how they are shaped and dance across the windscreen" to give commuters "something to play with, meditate with, and connect with at the station."
