Four small male figures are arranged in a row on a narrow bronze strip, which is mounted on top of a steel pole. These figures symbolize unemployed men hoping for a change in their fortunes. They include a taxi driver, a construction worker, and a father and son. Each figure is slightly elongated and stands with their hands in their pockets. The sculpture was commissioned by the City of Cambridge through the Cambridge Arts Council Percent for Art Program. IAS files contain a printout from the Cambridge Arts Council.
