1st Chinese Theater in NYC

From 1893 until 1913, 5-7 Doyers Street was the home of the Chinese Concert Company and the first Chinese theater in New York. The theater was situated in the basement and the ground floor of the building. During this time, traditional forms of Chinese music and opera could be heard regularly.
