The Orange County Museum of Art (OCMA), designed by Thom Mayne and Morphosis Architects, is located at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, California. The museum opened in October 2022 and features a design characterized by its geometric forms and white terracotta tile facade.The building includes a 10,000-square-foot planted terrace on the roof, a 10,000-square-foot glass atrium, and grand outdoor stairs. The interior spaces are designed with open galleries and sunlit atria to maximize natural light. It also has adaptable gallery spaces, an education hall, and a large upper plaza roof terrace for performances and events.The design focuses on creating a public space within a suburban environment, encouraging interaction with the arts. The architecture combines contemporary design with functional public spaces and sustainable features.
