The museum preserves and displays fire fighting memorabilia from the Greater Boston area. The Museum occupies a firehouse built in 1891.This building is a unique architectural design,with a granite, brick, and red tile front facade. Additionally there is an absence of columns or poles on the main floor as the second floor is held up, from above, using a wooden truss-type roof and a series of steel columns extending downward.
