A small remnant of the original World Trade Center complex survives in a preserved entrance to the WTC E train station. While most transit infrastructure was rebuilt after 9/11, this entrance was left intact because it still bears the rescue-team markings from the search efforts in the subway tunnels after the towers collapsed. Now part of the Oculus transit hub, the space retains its original floors, doors, and fixtures, quietly honoring the commuters and rescuers of that day.
