Material: Faceted glass in mezzanine windows and platform windscreens
The artist SOL'SAX, known for his clever wordplay and interest in African cultures, has designed a series of windscreens for his neighborhood subway station that incorporate both images of city life and emblems of ancient African cultural life. The vibrant colors and intricate designs in the art panels represent the artist's creative explorations. Images of city life are melded with symbols of ancient African cultural influences and relics. The compositions are intended to provide guidance, and protection, inspiration for all traveling through the station. An MTA Arts for Transit project.
