The Battery Labyrinth, created in 2002 to mark the first anniversary of 9/11, offers visitors a contemplative walking path. Unlike a maze, its single route leads inward and back out, encouraging reflection and healing. Made of 1,148 Belgian blocks forming seven rings, the path stretches 358 feet each way, surrounded by native gardens of witch hazel, spicebush, blueberries, and more.
