The Hudson–Fulton Celebration of 1909 was a grand event in New York and New Jersey to commemorate the 300th anniversary of Henry Hudson’s discovery of the Hudson River and the 100th anniversary of Robert Fulton’s first successful paddle steamer. It featured historical and carnival parades, naval displays, and public flights by Wilbur Wright. With illuminations, fireworks, and cultural exhibits, the celebration highlighted New York's progress, civic identity, and its status as a world city.
