Located in Manhattan's rapidly evolving West Chelsea neighborhood, the new headquarters for media conglomerate IAC sits on the West Side Highway in a Frank Gehry-designed, 10-story building. IAC challenged STUDIOS to consolidate their numerous, diversified businesses with a space that responded to the building form with its own unique vocabulary. STUDIOS' design for the interior spaces responds to the building's irregularly shaped floors by locating enclosed offices in areas with more regular geometries and populating the open work areas with a custom furniture system that respond organically to the fluctuating building shape. Inspired by the branding of dozens of individual companies that comprise IAC and occupy the building, blasts of color punctuate the space, framing the muted palette of the curtain wall. An interactive media wall running the length of the ground floor lobby seamlessly integrates technology into the architecture, creating a digital living room for the workers and visitors.
