On the corner of Grand Central Market's parking structure is Tim Hawkinson's "Inverted Clocktower." The clocktower this artwork commemorates never actually existed; however, the brickwork and masonry of this fictitious clocktower are "recorded" by a mold made from the poured concrete walls and walkways of the new garage building. To further confound the viewer with its paradoxical presence/absence, the clocktower's clock dials run counterclockwise and the roman numerals are reversed. Courtesy of CRA/LA.
