Located in the Sanwa Bank Plaza, Eric Orr's 37'h x 5'h x 1'10"d fountain piece, "L.A. Prime Matter", consists of two 32' h rectangular bronze towers in the northwest corner of Figueroa and Wilshire. The bronze towers have water cascading down their ribbed sides, creating the mesmerizing optical illusion of water falling in slow motion. A gas flame shoots up the sides of both columns and burned for approximately three minutes two to four times per hour.
