The mural, Confluence of Civilizations in the Americas, was created by Juan O'Gorman as part of the 1968 HemisFair (the World's Fair). The mural symbolizes the progress made by the confluence of civilizations in the Western Hemisphere. Adam and Eve are in the middle; European civilization is depicted on the right, and indigenous meso-American civilization on the left.


The Torch of Friendship, created by artist Sebastian, represents two cultures, two languages and two roads merging into one. 

<p>Created by artist Gilbert E. Barrera in 2003, the sculpture is a re-creation of the original Lady Justice purchased in 1896 by the City of San Antonio from the J.L. Mott company of New York.Located in front of the Bexar County Courthouse.</p>

The Alamo Cenotaph is a memorial to the fallen heroes of the Battle of the Alamo. Created by artist Pompeo Coppini in 1939, the memorial is located in Alamo Plaza.

Ann McGlone discusses the "Torch of Friendship," which commemorates the business collaboration between Mexican and American businessmen. 

The artwork utilizes LED lighting systems to create slowly-changing color patterns onto surrounding columns and sidewalks.Light Channels demonstrates how public art connects our community, sparks revitalization, and provides functional and dynamic solutions which enliven our built-environment.
