Now part of the South Street Seaport Museum, Bowne & Co. is New York City’s oldest continually running business, printing under the same name since 1775. The shop gives visitors a peek into the history of the letterpress, as well as a chance to pick up unique cards, journals and posters, pressed up in the shop’s storefront, and in the adjoining Bowne Printers.
