Description

Now part of the South Street Seaport Museum, Bowne & Co. is New York City’s oldest continually running business, printing under the same name since 1775. The shop gives visitors a peek into the history of the letterpress, as well as a chance to pick up unique cards, journals and posters, pressed up in the shop’s storefront, and in the adjoining Bowne Printers.

From its initial listing on the New York Stock Exchange until its acquisition in 2010, Bowne was the oldest publicly traded company in the United States.
