The Habitat for the Yellow Bird

Gigantic sunflowers and vibrant pansies fill the panels of these highly detailed faceted glass windscreens. Bees, butterflies, and--of course--a yellow bird fly and flutter through each panel, and a cityscape is visible in the distance. Takayo strove to bring cheer and spirit to the transit public through her colorful imaginary landscapes with blue skies and twinkling stars. An MTA Arts for Transit project.
