The Tin Building by Jean-Georges at New York City's Seaport permanently closed, marking the end of an ambitious redevelopment project that cost nearly $200 million. Opened as a high-end food hall and marketplace, the venue struggled with mounting financial losses, staffing challenges, and declining operations despite its high-profile launch.

The closure represents a major setback for the Seaport's recent revitalization efforts and ends a short-lived chapter for one of New York's most ambitious culinary destinations.

The historic waterfront building is set to begin as the home of the Balloon Museum, an immersive contemporary art experience. Occupying more than 50,000 square feet, the museum will feature large-scale inflatable installations, interactive exhibits, and multimedia artworks, transforming the former marketplace into one of New York City's newest cultural attractions.
