The "La Mansion Del Rio" is built on the site of the St. Mary's Law School and incorporates the school's original building designed by Fracois Giraud and built in 1852 with additions in 1867 and 1870. Along with the Alamo, San Fernando Cathedral and the German English School, it is among the oldest instituational structures in San Antonio. This building, with it's additions over the years was continually used for educational purposes from 1852-1867.
