Windows on the World restaurant opened and becomes the highest dining room in New York

It was at South William Street, opposite Mill Lane, known as 5 Mill Street.

It was in the Government House until 1815, roughly on the former site of Fort Amsterdam.

Until 1834, it was in a converted bookstore and reading room on Wall Street at the east side of Nassau Street.

The previous building was demolished for construction of a new Custom House at the same location, completed in 1842, which was designed by John Frazee, and is today designated Federal Hall National Memorial.

It was in the Merchant's Exchange Building at 55 Wall Street.

It moved into a new building, now called the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House, built on the site where Government House sat earlier, on the south side of Bowling Green.

The Customs Service signed a long-term lease with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey at Six World Trade Center&nbsp;

After the World Trade Center was destroyed during the September 11 attacks in 2001, employees were moved to various places in Manhattan, Queens, and Elizabeth in New Jersey.

The Customs Service was split into several agencies in 2003. One of its successors, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, planned to return to the new World Trade Center, moving into One World Trade Center.

92ft tall, 8 floors. 6 World Trade Center was home to the United States Customs House for New York, who occupied the entire building. Although it was technically part of the complex, it was isolated from the rest of the buildings in terms of access, was generally off limits to the public and was not under the same ownership as the other buildings&nbsp;

The World Trade Center Memorial design competition drew 5,201 entries from 63 nations. In 2004, architect Michael Arad, with landscape architect Peter Walker, won with Reflecting Absence. Arad became a partner at Handel Architects shortly after.

The 9/11 Memorial is a tribute of remembrance, honoring the 2,977 people killed in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center site, near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and at the Pentagon, as well as the six people killed in the World Trade Center bombing on February 26, 1993.The 9/11 Memorial is located at the site of the former World Trade Center complex and occupies approximately half of the 16-acre site. The Memorial’s twin reflecting pools are each nearly an acre in size and feature the largest man-made waterfalls in North America.

The Memorial site is a public space for meditation and contemplation, centered around two reflecting pools that sit in the footprints of the original World Trade Center Towers. Lining the perimeter of each fountain is a parapet of victims’ names, arranged and inscribed according to a system of “meaningful adjacencies.” The pools are clad in Jet Mist granite, and the names panels are made of bronze that has been treated with a ferric based patina. At night, the names are illuminated from within. The fountains rest within a new plaza that acts as a sacred ground for those coming to honor the victims, while also integrating the Memorial into the surrounding city.&nbsp;

The original World Trade Center (WTC) was a large complex of seven buildings in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan in New York City. It opened on April 4, 1973, and was destroyed during the September 11 terrorist attacks in 2001.&nbsp;

An American architect, best known for designing the original World Trade Center in NYC. During his three-decade career, he and his firm designed over 250 buildings. He and fellow architect Edward Durell Stone are generally considered to be the two master practitioners of “New Formalism” architecture style.

After the World Trade Center attack, the materials from the World Trade Center site were brought to the West Mound during a temporary suspension of the closure.

The master plan to redevelop former industrial piers into a 92-acre commercial, residential, and park area. &nbsp;The landfill was to be sourced from the 3 million cubic yards of material to be excavated for the World Trade Center foundations.
