By 2015, Haas’s mural was badly deteriorated, with nearly half of his works already lost to development. Restoration was estimated to cost up to $250,000. Haas’s studio began fundraising and planning, with a $100,000 donation from developer David Walentas.

Partnering with nonprofit CITYarts, the team hired artist Robin Alcantara to lead the restoration, which was completed that November.
