Canal Convergence is a bi-annual series of engaging and inspiring free events at the Scottsdale Waterfront featuring innovative large scale installations by local and national artists, hands-on activities, live music, performances, and Artisan Market's urban marketplace experience. This piece was displayed at the first Canal Convergence event, Canal Convergence | Water + Art + Light in November 2012. Christopher Janney created an interactive "alley" along the edge of the canal between the Soleri Bridge and Plaza and Marshall Way Bridge located at the Scottsdale Waterfront, composed of sixteen 8 ft. tall x 10" diameter aluminum columns mounted on concrete bases. The columns provided an interactive opportunity for passersby who triggered a score of colored light and sound.
