Built in 1796, future U.S. President James Madison and his wife Dolley lived in this Federal-style brick row house from 1794 to 1797 while he served in the U.S. House of Representatives. The three-story red brick townhouse features multi-pane sash windows, dark louvered shutters, window boxes on the ground floor, and a classical fanlight above the front door.
