AlA New York recognizes IndiaNOW: Architecture in the Contemporary Landscape, produced through a collaboration of the Architecture Dialogue Committee, the Global Dialogue Committee and cultureNOW. This ambitious program sought to develop a broader familiarity with both internationalist modernist architecture and contemporary projects in India through an expansive virtual gathering of current practitioners, academics, and historians. The scope and breadth of the program, as well as the collaboration with and leveraging of the Museum of Modern Art exhibition on the topic, was impressive and well-timed. The half-day, hybrid program brought to the forefront the high quality of design currently taking place in India. Such knowledge propels the field of architecture forward in a culturally sensitive and global way.
