Jeffrey Epstein financial career began with a stint at Bear Sterns. After a succession of consulting firms where he was recovering fraudlently obtained money, selling weapons to Iran, and corporate raiding, he formed a wealth management firm for very wealthy clients. Leslie Wexner who had made his fortune through Victoria's Secret and the Limited was his most well known one; Leon Black was the other. What followed were some complex mortgage backed structured debt deals and hedge funds which didn't fare well for many of the participants wiping out Bear Sterns in the process. There were all the trappings of wealth, large homes in Palm Beach and New York, private planes, a ‘black book’ overflowing with boldface names: Prince Andrew, Bill Gates, Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, among others.
Epstein also had a taste for teenage girls and spent most of his time and effort recruiting and pursuing them and teaching them to give him ‘massages’ with the help of his former girlfriend Ghislane Maxwell. This is what got him into trouble, first at Dalton, later in Palm Beach and finally in New York where he ended up committing suicide in Jail. Because Epstein was reputed to be "Donald's closest friend for ten years" with Trump's recent return to the White House, the publicity has intensified.
