John Glenn

About

After an early career as a fighter pilot where he served in the Korean War, John Glenn was selected as one of the Mercury Seven Astronauts.  He was the third American in space.  When he retired from NASA, he was elected to the US Senate from Ohio.  He did return to space at the age of 77.
