Ettore Ximenes (1855-1926) was an Italian sculptor and illustrator. Born in Palermo, Sicily, he initially pursued literary studies but later turned to sculpture. He studied at the Palermo Academy of Fine Arts and later at the Naples Academy under notable artists like Domenico Morelli and Stanislao Lista.Ximenes is known for his realist and Symbolist sculptures, and he created many significant public works in Italy and abroad, including monuments in Rome, Kyiv, New York, and Buenos Aires. Some of his famous works include the bronze quadriga on the Palace of Justice in Rome and the monument to Emperor Alexander II in Kyiv.
