Debra Gerod is a partner at Gruen Associates, a 78-year old architectural firm based in Los Angeles. She joined the firm in 1988 and became a partner in 2002. Gerod has been involved in numerous landmark projects, including collaborations with renowned architects such as OMA, Foster + Partners, and Weiss Manfredi. Her portfolio includes the Wilshire Boulevard Temple Audrey Irmas Pavilion, the Tower Theatre Adaptive Re-Use, and the La Brea Tar Pits Reimagining.
Gerod has held influential roles within the American Institute of Architects (AIA), serving as AIA California President in 2020 and AIA Los Angeles Chapter President in 2016. She has been recognized for her contributions to the profession, receiving the AIA|LA Gold Medal Award in 2024.
