Carnegie Hall Montage

In homage to nearby Carnegie Hall, Josh Scharf designed a series of printed ceramic tiles for the 57th St - 7th Ave station that depict some of the performers and speakers who have crossed its stage--for instance Marian Anderson, Martin Luther King Jr., and the Beatles. At one end of the installation, passengers can see a swarm of white tiles printed with the names of notable Carnegie Hall performers. An MTA Arts for Transit project.
