For the Times Square Alliance Snohetta developed a streetscape design that integrates the unique pedestrian experience in Times Square with a high volume of traffic, allowing the space to adapt to peak vehicle and peak pedestrian operation.
Aerial View of Times Square Streetscapes - The existing street geometry, traffic patterns, and pedestrian volumes were studied to identify critical areas where additional pedestrian space was needed.
Additionally, low-tech strategies and technologies were developed to create quality public space and experience that is seamlessly integrated with complex, heavily-trafficed infrastructure
