In the nineties in New York, Enrico Scoppa, and Antonio Ferrara—an opera impresario and showman—opened Café A. Ferrara. Caruso himself praised the marvelous espresso coffee, but it was the cookies and cakes he loved most. You could also play a game of Neapolitan "Scopa".
