This work was created as part of the East Seventh Street Corridor streetscape, which includes a series of wayfinding obelisks (obeliscos, in Spanish) located at eight intersections. Each of these scrollwork panels celebrates the organic fluidity of line expressed in Mexican tile and metalwork, paying homage to the street`s rich history and land: to the north, residential hills; to the east, fertile valley; to the south, river bottomlands; to the west, the urban core and setting sun.
