In Atlantic Journeys, the ocean and the creatures that one might find there as one progresses to deeper and deeper water are depicted in 35,000 square feet of terrazzo flooring inlaid in the walkway that connects Terminals A and E. Some of the creatures that are represented are a lobster, a naked sea butterfly, a red sea star, a skate, and a mother whale and her calf. All are seen as though they were at their proper depth. Atlantic Journeys was designed by Jane Goldman, and installed by the terrazzo company DePaoli Mosaic in 1999. Since then, Ms. Goldman has designed two more walkway floors for Logan with ocean themes: The Abyss installed in 2002, and Ocean Creatures, installed in 2005.
